Tubes Asylum Questions about tubes and gear that glows. FAQ |
|
Circumstances forced this neat little toy into storage as soon as I got it on eBay a couple of years ago. I just now retrieved it, hooked it up and turned it on, and all that happens is the led power-indicator light goes on. Tubes stay dark and cold and no sound.I unplugged and checked and replugged everything, and nothing looks any way that it shouldn't; put in a pair of known-working tubes, no change. I'm afraid I'm very green with testing electronics--I do have an old analog volt meter somebody gave me but I hardly know how to use it.
Anybody like to suggest a next step? Maybe detach the power supply cable at the preamp and turn on the power with the meter hooked up (if so, I'd have to ask what settings and where to place the probes)? And if there is power there, then...?
Thanks for being there. I really appreciate your help. :-)
