I've got an old GE/RCA console radio/phonograph circa 32 where the #27 is used as a local osc, a detector and an AF amp/driver for PP #45s. It sounds surprisingly good considering its age. I've also got a PP #45 amp forever in the design stage where I've used the #27 as input amp. Although low gain by current standards, I've found it to be quite linear with OA nice sound here too.
