I figure I'll ask the experts...The bias on one of the KT88s in my VAC Avatar Super is slowly going down (I have to keep increasing the bias).
Is this a sign of the tube dying, presumably from old age? I've been searching the archives and I haven't found any definitive story on what actually happens when a tube gives up the ghost. This is assuming no fireworks etc which would be obvious.
I have found plenty on replacement KT88s though. Decisions, decisions.
