I recently scored a quad of 1953 Sylvania 12AT7 black plate, two-mica square getter tubes in their original green boxes. The lowest reading among these was one tube that scored 3900 on one side, but the rest read over 4000 (the highest reading being 4500) on a 3000 scale. They all passed life and other tests very well. I am loath to use these because they might increase in value. Has anybody had experience with these in hi-fi and would they sound different from the Air Force, triple mica version of that same vintage.
