I had that problem lately with some driver tubes and power tubes.
I decided to take the advise of a few here and give the pins on the tubes a good cleaning.1. Gently with a small brass wire brush clean the pins.
2. Clean pins with Q-tip and 99% rubbing alc.
3. Cean pins with Q-tip and deoxit.
Even though the pins can look good, there can be a layer of grunge on them.
I have had no pops or crackles since I cleaned them. Well I was at it I cleaned the sockets with a pipe cleaner and deoxit.
