I bought a quad of those in Singapore, thinking they were true Svetlanas. I didn't realize there were also Reflector-made EL34s being sold under the Svetlana name until it was too late. The tubes I bought had low gms of around 8,000 to 9,000 micromhos (they weren't very well matched), instead of the 11,000 micromhos generally accepted as normal for the EL34. Shortly afer putting them into service, one of them stopped conducting - as if g2 had stopped functioning.I had bought the tubes to replace Sovtek EL34s; however, I believe Sovtek tubes are also made by Reflector (the marketing people like monkeying around with brand names for reasons known only to themselves) and, although the bottles are quite different, the innards, on closer inspection, appear to be the same.
I believe the real SED =C= Svetlanas are very good but the ones I bought were bogus Svetlanas and were not very good!
