JC claims if you run them as other than 2a3 then it's not a 2a3. You have changed the transfer characteristic and it's not a 2a3 (6b4) anymore. Not that it can't be done but that it 'shouldn't' be done.But like he says "once you buy the tube it's your's and you can do whatever you want with it"
Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't JC design that tube?
