I fired them up in the driver positions of my Jolida 302 with the IEC Mullard 12AX7's in the premap positions and NOS Svetlana EL34's for power. I use 2 test discs, "Dinah Sings, Previn Plays" piano/vocal & trio/vocal, recorded in 1959, and "The Girl In The Other Room." The older recording has some moments where Dinah got too close to the mike; Electro Harmonix or Chinese tubes reproduce this as grainy rasp; however, the Mullards and Sylvanias cut through this and the sound is clear and breathy. The Diana Krall disc sounds very liquid and nice. Overall the sound is very detailed, clear, and lively, very harmonic sounding in the midrange.
