I have a pair of Sylvania 5965 and a sleeve of GE. The sylvanias have a very airy holographic sound not unlike many of the good 12AU7s. They have distinctly different sonics in my application the AU and it's drop ins, are generally sweeter and richer sounding.
They are by no means useless!
The GE 5965 have a different sonic signature from the Sylvanias. They have a less clean presentation but have better tone. I guess I am going to have to look for overwritten codes etc.
Still Me and Frihed like the 5751s. I like the "no brainer" TMBP Sylvanias, good gold brand TMG/BP. The RCAs are very good at staging/layering and are a fast clean tube if you get good ones. The Raytheon 5751 excels in that same way. The GE 5 Star TMBP have absolutely thunderous bass. Unfortunately it can get lose in some of the examples I have had
