I've been researching various tubes for a pair of Fairchild 260-R's that I'm rebuilding. According to what I've read, in addition to the output tubes, the choice of phase splitters contributes to a tight bass as well. If your output tubes are within specs, you might want to start with the ps to see if you can improve the low end. After all, for the most part, your output tubes are just amplifying the voltages they are fed. Right?
