Mr Puddle, the El519, El509, and the 6kg6A are all the same tube and TOTALLY cross compatible with virtually no discernable specification differences at all (There are vague suggestions that I have found indicating that the EL519 is a heavier duty version, but my tube curve charts show NO differences!). You can be 100% comfortable using any of these. Tim D P used what was most commonly available and I have several pairs of various brands and designations (EL509.EL519) and use them in my EAR gear, Russian built NOS 6kg6a, Philips NOS etc...they're all good and can be found from various sources on the-Bay of dogz !
