Go on Ebay and pick up a handful of Hitachi 6GK5s for peanuts. When I had a CJ Premier 14, I tried GEs, Mullards and everything else I could find. The Hitachis sounded best by far, IMO. I liked the Mullards the least, BTW, and three of them died on me. Good luck, Dave
