Re: Tweed style tube amp kits - Mission Amps

Fredrixx,

Bruce Collins, http://www.missionamps.com/ is a "damned fine feller" and extremely knowledgable about overall electronics and sound production as well as also being an amateur radio operator ("ham" - not a "johnny come lately" who has built a few amps and is now a "guru" ). He's hosted a tweed amp builder/kit builder's forum at the "Music Electronics Forum" and it's predecessor "Ampage" for many years and has selflessly provided his assistance to those who are building his competitors kits as well as those amps he designs and sells himself (and "suffered" a few "experts" and "fools" much more graciously than I've ever had the patience to ).

While I'm not sure that he's got a reverb equipped model - probably does but I've not checked - I can't think of a better resource to have for tweed "anything" even if you don't purchase his products - he's served as a design consultant for at least two competing brands of kit tweed amps.

And, no I have no financial interest or obligations to Bruce or his products and am quite satisfied with my own homebuilts and my Blackface Fender. It's just that I've corresponded with him and traded BBS posts for almost ten years and really haven't noted his equal on any other forum.

Rob
