I have the Laurels with the Ultimate Upgrade modifications. I've been using the same drivers for roughly 5 years, and although I have a huge collection of 6SL7s to try, I just haven't felt the need to swap the current valves out.I don't know about the "ultimate", but the NOS (1945) JAN Sylvania 6SL7GT VT-229 I'm using are brilliant. These were made 5 years before I was born, which adds a certain perspective. They are quiet, resolving and reliable. I paid around $40 for the pair.
