'mC1' is an early ECC83 type that is bringing very high prices lately on eBay. I have a few that I use in my phono stage. Nice tubes, but I'm not sure they're worth the "going rate". My guess is that the "8" in your line of code is actually a "B", the code for the Mullard Blackburn plant. All of my mC1 tubes have the B for Blackburn factory code.
