Picked up a small box of misc tubes awhile back at a flea market. Opened a few of the boxes to see if they matched the contents; most were NOS.
Months later (this morning) I was looking at some of those tubes to pass the time. Opened the two boxes marked GE JAN 5814a and found a Mullard ecc83 in each. They appear in excellent (almost new) condition but I'll test them later. Here's what they look like:
Mullard shield at top, ECC83 below the shield, BVA in oval below that. Along side of these center markings are the words 'British' on one side and 'Made' on the other side, written vertically. Two whole seams on top. Marked 'mC1' with '87I (1?) underneath. One tube marked with a reversed 'R' on bottom; one tube marked with a 'D' on bottom and a '2' between the 1st and last pins. Big, square getters with U shaped supports and cross-bars (as best I can see).
Any guidance as to the origin and desireability of these tubes? Thanks!
