What are your speaker's impedance?.

No speaker has a constant impedance with frequency. Some rise, some fall and all have resonance peaks. Using the four ohm tap might even increase bass response on some speakers that are rated 8 ohms. Most people who have 8 ohm speakers use the 8 ohm tap. Just DON'T use the 16 ohm tap with an 8 ohm speaker. Making load measurements involve many precision test instruments that have to be calibrated and is way beyond the scope of the average user. Ray
