I have both the PQ and SQ E80CC gold pin and I believe the Amp. PQ are also made by Philips. Same for the Telefunken. I have a pair of Zaerex E80CC (cool box)with steel pins and havea London address but say made in G.D.R. on the tube. Are they from E. Germany or Tungrams ? They sound good yet not with the others. Adzams w/gold pins (E80CC)are Philips to my knowledge (ha). No Valvos here though. Maybe I'll poke around for some on a Germany eBay. Your EL34 amp is a nice sounding, I bet. Ever tried to wiring them in Triode? Did you try a A/B test with Mullards and recent made EL34's? My amp now is PP in Triode (no mods there)and uses EL34X2(recent makes) as drivers but that's another story.Ecc99 keeps popping up. I wonder if it requires rewiring to use them. Maybe like my Tele. ECC808, it's an odd ball 12AX7 with some rewiring needed but were made for studio work. Supposed to be better than the 803 and I was going to... that one ya know. Thanks!
