Re: biasing and old power tubes etc.

Yes. The bias must be adjusted periodically to compensate for tube aging. Adjust the bias as needed to maintain the recommended setting. Generally the sound quality will degrade to an unacceptable level before the tubes won't bias properly.

The difference between 110 or 120 mA and 45 mA suggests that the larger value is for two tubes and the smaller value is for only one tube. It is possible that the amp originally was designed such that the pair of tubes was measured and adjusted as a set and later was modified to allow separate measurement and adjustment of each tube.
