I re-tubed a friend's AI-3A with NOS 1970s Tungsrams a couple of years ago, and they are still sounding fantastic (he runs about 20-30 hours a week). That AI is a tube-eater, and imo don't waste your money on ultra-expensive/rare NOS tubes. The Tungsrams are very tough, and sound far better than any new production tubes IMO.
