Well first, where are you connectiong the analog audio? To dedicated L&R only jacks or is this a DVD player with 5.1 analog audio jacks? If the later, the paragraph below is very important.Check the audio setting in the DVD startup menu. It may be set for 5.1 in which case you won't get all the channels mixed into the main front L&R. Note this menu setiing must be checked with each and every DVD played.
Some DVD players may do an automatic mix to L&R in the analog L&R jacks when in 5.1 mode but I'm not sure.
