is to suggest that you've got a preamp that has some sort of ultra-sonic oscillation that's taking out components down stream. The fact that all was fine until the new preamp was placed into service is pretty indicative. You certainly wouldn't hear it and the Parasound is capable of handling it, though with some extra heat buildup that clearly took out its current-carrying devices.I would be *very* careful hooking the preamp back up into the system again until you can be sure there's no extra signal generation going on. Also pay lots of attention to the grounding schemes in your gear, too.
