You seem to be barking up the wrong tree

I have nothing to do, and do not partake in the NOS market, but I also see it as a reality, with its own laws. Whether or not you and I like it or hate makes no difference.

But if there is a small rational statement to this situation, it is that IMO an equipment manufacturer would be foolish to design something around an obscure device. That would do disservice to both the customer and the producer.

There are many tempting devices to use, and we all have our collections of those - great characteristics and performance, just one problem - not available in OEM quantities.
