My preference and only IMHO for the EL 34 if you want glorious mids are the JJ EL34L blue glass use (eurotubes.com cheap and fast you got to to call the guy really.) yes virginia there is a difference in using blue glass but they might be a tad euphonic for you. I nor my buddies have not had quality issues with the but.... In that case event the old Svetlanas are very good EL 34s . For 12AU7 ECC82s get Hewlett Packard pulls even better are the HP 6922 for your ecc88 they are cheap and are Amperex OEMs. Otherwise spring for some lower end NOS Europeans like Brimar 13D5s they are clean well defined and neutral. I really like the Siemans Rohre ECC88 or E80CC or 6922 equivalent type, from the 70s, not terribly expensive, really nicely detailed a tad forward perhaps, no extra warmth, and convey your signal with authority. A good tube for a slightly vieled system. Or if you just like your music uncolored.
