Why not try a single pair and find out for yourself. They are cheap enough to experiment with. Some are found in Amperex 6922 Orange Globe labeling. I have a pair that I purchased about 8 years ago. Bass and midrange are very, very good. But there is a unrefined quality in the highs. This tube is better suited for a driver/buffer than gain stage.
