Up in smoke

The Jolida product whose price is being quoted is not the same product as sold by Jolida USA. I can't verify that these Jolida's come from a different factory, but i have seen the equivalent of "copy" hifi equipment in China. These units look like the imported units on the outside (Some times). They look OK on the inside, but the parts are very cheap and the output transformers can fail quickly. The nameplates were obviously faked on a few of the units i saw, so the factory of origin was hard to know.

I would be very careful and only go through an importer, whom others you trust have used, and have received satisfactory service.

My most recent second-hand experience was of a colleague who imported a $200 (about) tube headphone amp from China on Ebay (+$200 shipping). It looked beautiful; it had a recognizeable chinese brand name; it sounded really nice; and it went up in smoke within a day! It died of transformer meltdown.

You just don't know what you are getting at these prices.
