Rex has recommended some great tubes.I'm familiar with,and own, both the GE and Raytheon.I've found the triple mica GE6201 to be similair to his descriptions but the bass is fuller in my applications and the highs a tad on the bright side but no means unpleasant.
Raytheon, I agree fully.
Now for my all time favorite 12at7 the Sylvania triple mica 12at7wa.Wonderfull,rich fully extended bass, meltingly sweet mid range and highs.I occasionaly put other US made ,I'm pretty sure I have all of them from the 1950's,in my systems but the Sylvania's go back in quickly.
You should still be able to find any of the domestic tubes mentioned realtively inexpensive.
