...I haven't changed my Rubys yet, but did have to replace a bad 12BZ7. The GE 12BZ7 from Upscale Audio (only available if you bought the Six Pacs there) are better than the stock ones. I've also tried RCA and CBS/Hytron 12BZ7s, and EH and GT 12AX7. None of them stack up to the either GE in soundstage and detail.Also, am using Tungsol EL-84s. Not as noticeable a change, but slightly airier than the stock EH EL-84, and not as tight in the bass.
