Good LORD you have a nice camera and skills to match! Definitely not Russian, and definitely VERY nice and rare/ likely valuable. Well; it certainly is a bit different from all other EL37s I've seen. Over the years, it's been more than a couple that have passed thru my hands... but, it does LOOK like an EL37 in many ways. It has the horizontal micas of EL37 (long rectangular mica strips down inside; not the atypical top micas)The problem I have with it are the micas spacers at the top that are visible parallel to the glass with the metal clips, never seen them in EL37. On the plus side: It is of very old production just judging from the hard-fired, rainbowed, super thick getters, shape and appearance of the glass envelope, etc etc. It's a a BIT smaller than other EL37s, but not by much. At first, I thought perhaps it was a KT series valve, but this isn't a KT; it's a pentode-- no beam former visible. I'd say you have a VERY EARLY EL37 on your hands. The complete absence of codes is VERY unusual, but not unheard of. Not sure, but I think Valvo may have made some early EL37s and did not always code. Are the getters two rings at the base, or upside down "cups", or upside down "bread loaf pan" shaped? Here's what it ISN'T: It's not a rebranded 6L6. There are no beam formers. It's not any communist bloc rebrand, & it's an incredible tube. A museum piece. Hang onto these; I gurantee they will blow away any 6L6 and compete easily with WE 350B. Beautiful tube; and not all early Mullards had the hole in the keylock; especially not EL37. I've seen many EL37 w/o hole in guidepin/keylock. You scored, here!
