Citation II's with KT90's

I have a newby question.

I've read post after post regarding the type III KT90's not being as good as previous production.

Here the thing. Why not just turn the bias down a little bit if the plates are glowing?

I've read lots of posts talking about running other tubes and advising to be sure to turn the bias down.

Why push the KT90's right to the edge and then complain that they glow?

Any feedback would be much appreciated as I have to retube two amps.

I was planning on purchasing either the KT90's or Winged C 6550's.

Advice / Comments?
