Tubes Asylum Questions about tubes and gear that glows. FAQ |

I want to replace a McIntosh 2105 (my second system) with a dependable tube amp. My preamps are a Curcio fully modded PAS and a McIntosh C-26. The C-26 does seem to match with my Full premium version modified Dynaco ST-70.My "desires" are a full bodied sound with a stronge bass presence. No weak or questionable bass issues please.
I don't need a ton of power. My 6v6 12 watt amp is ample for my needs
I wanted a Citation but there are non to be found. I also don't want an extensive restoration project. Simple rebuilds are fine.
My budget is in the $600-800 range.
I had considered the Paramour 2a3 but I know NOTHING about what a SET amp can do or sound like.
And I would prefer something with tubes that are still available to some extent.
Thanks
charles
