Re: RCA Clear Top with round getter?

Yes, the Brimar ECC82 cleartop does look very similar to the RCA. I'd have to review my stash of RCA 12AU7A cleartops to see if I can discern clues to the manufacturing history of this tube. I know that factories (RCA-owned factories?) in Brazil (and Mexico, too?) made cleartop RCA 6FQ7s. All of these that I've seen I believe were made outside the US, though some may have been made in the US. They have round, rather then square, getter rings. I also believe this to be late, even the last, production generation of this tube.

There may be a similar story to the 12AU7 cleartop. Late production had the o-shaped getter ring. Some may have been made outside the US, produced to deliver to those non-US local markets, and/or to reimport to the US. Not sure, just speculating.
