Yes, the Brimar ECC82 cleartop does look very similar to the RCA. I'd have to review my stash of RCA 12AU7A cleartops to see if I can discern clues to the manufacturing history of this tube. I know that factories (RCA-owned factories?) in Brazil (and Mexico, too?) made cleartop RCA 6FQ7s. All of these that I've seen I believe were made outside the US, though some may have been made in the US. They have round, rather then square, getter rings. I also believe this to be late, even the last, production generation of this tube.There may be a similar story to the 12AU7 cleartop. Late production had the o-shaped getter ring. Some may have been made outside the US, produced to deliver to those non-US local markets, and/or to reimport to the US. Not sure, just speculating.
