Thanks. Would not consider myself a tube guru, or any guru, but I have poked around a few pieces of ARC gear over the years. Many parts are quite easy to source without calling ARC, i.e. caps, resistors, etc. Things like pots, switches, controls, even some semiconductors I have learned, the hard way, that ARC sourced parts generally work better.
In the case of the pots, I could have made them work, but what a pain. So my first ARC pot replacement experience cost me way more than if I simply purchased the pot from ARC.
Leonard, Chris, etc., will tell you if a non-ARC part will work, if they know the answer. They aren't trying to sell ARC parts or service. If I have any doubt I just give Leonard a call. He is always willing to help.
