I agree with you to a point about nos tubes, but I recently got a pair of GT12AX7Ms and a pair of Sovtek 12AX7LPS, and they are fantastic tubes right out of the box. Contact Jim McShane ( a sponsor, scroll to the bottom of the home page) and he will set your friend right!!!
