I e-mailed Norh tech Michael C Barnes yesterday to ask if the SE9 could use any other tubes (such as the 6l6). here's the reply i got: "I believe the 6l6 is the European venison of the EL34. Any tube that is voltage compatible with the EL34 will work. You can have the voltages changed for other tubes --such as the 6550." Now i'm not a tube wiz, but i dont think the 6l6 is the european equivalent of the EL34! For fear of damaging the amp, i'm not going to try a 6l6 in place unless i know for shure!
