Tubes Asylum Questions about tubes and gear that glows. FAQ |
|
Hullo,
Gotta nice trio of "Hammond" branded tubes, chrome top, grey plate, halo
getters that have "Made in Great Britain" etched on the tube with a code of " 163 B 5C3", which I assume since it's a Brit tube, is a Mullard code ( B = Blackburn plant).
When I pick them up today, zut alors! I notice the presence of the 4 "Amperex Ridges" on the top of the tube!
Were these ridges characteristic of Mullard as well? Were they Amperex manufactured / then jobbed out? WTH? Whattizzit?Any help appreciated.
K.
