MJL, please see above.V1-V3 are lined up parallel with the right side of preamp as viewed from front, with V1 the first tube closest to the back of the preamp (allows for shortest path from the Phono input jack to the first phono tube). V3 is the last in line in the row coming toward the front of the preamp and is a cathode follower.
Line level tubes are V4-V6 lined up parallel with the front panel with V4 closest to the left side panel as viewed from the front. As in the phono stage, the last tube in the row, V6, is a cathode follower.
