...of high-quality tubed equipment. Heat does rise, but even the chassis bottoms of tubed amps get quite warm after a few hours. The circuit boards are attached to the tubes; they get LOTS hotter.

I'm glad you've not had problems with your amp's circuit boards. I've seen a few burned from hot-but-still-operating resistors.
