Tube Socket problems

205.188.116.7

Hi,
Just recently completed a total re-build of a Dynaco ST-35.
Mostly stock with the exception of new replacment FRP type circuit
boards. Tubes (EL84) matched quad JJ brand which run a bit hot @
147 ma total a (4) tubes. 140 ma is the optimum current for this
unit.
Problem I have encountered is the tubes (EL84) have become loose in
their sockets. Very loose whereas I can now pull these out of the
sockets with little effort. Close inspection reveals that the wrap-
around connectors within these sockets have opened up.
Tubes when first installed were snug and tight.
I only have approx. 8 hours running time on this amp.
I realize it is possible to re-tension these connectors but I did
not expect to need to do this after on a breif use.
Sockets are a reproduction of the "Cinch" brand (9) pin flaged mount
Micanol. Purchased from Handmade Electronics PA.
I should note that the original Dynaco PC board incorporated (2)
vent like cut outs in the board adjacent to each socket. The new
production board version does not.
Could this be a result of excessive heat build up ?
Any and all comments welcomed. Thanks Kevin
