There is a suppressed manufacture's study which indicated enormous advantages, in terms of longevity, in reducing the heater voltages by 5%.I bought a bunch of 1980's Chinese EL34 tubes which I found to be unstable and impossible to bias until I reduced the heater voltage from 6.5VAC to 6.2VAC. And, at the lower heater voltage I run 575VDC on the plates with complete stability.
As for your question which wonders whether raising the heater voltage will burn out tubes... I don't know, I haven't tried it. But rather than wasting tubes, why don't you use a variac set at 140VAC on a table lamp. And using the on/off switch to turn it on and off, why don't you find out how many days it takes for the bulb to burn out. By contrast, I use one of those Radio Shack diodes that you place in a lamp socket to turn the 120VAC into pulsing DC. Those bulbs have been running for over 20 years.
