with warm"This is what I hate about 12ax7's. There is no such thing. I find when I listen to 12ax7's I am constantly tube rolling because I can never find the perfect ballance. I have many 12ax7's and 5751's. I will like somthing about each one. But will miss something the other did. My fovorite 12ax7 in my JD100a is the amperex orange globe 12ax7. It's not the most detailed. But the midrange is killer. Overall it's the best in the Jolida. In my amp I use RCA 5751 black plates because they give the amp more depth and transperancy. So you will just have to try different tubes.
