The Best? I think that's highly subjective to personal taste, equipment i.e. speakers, room acoustics, etc.But I will say that I recently upgraded my PrimaLuna's 12AX7's to a set of NOS CV4004=12AX7 Mullard tubes and I'm very pleased. The Mullard's are very smooth and detailed. Goregeous tubes! NOS tubes are worth the extra cost on the "small tubes" as opposed to new production tubes IMHO.
