when biasing this amplifier, you do need the load from the speakers but no source playing. I biased one a while back for someone who did not receive any manual at all. You can leave the source disconnected when biasing but not the speakers. If I recall, you will not even get a correct bias without the load.
Again, this is only via memory and working with a unit that I did not have any manual to go by. I would contact the dealer to get the facts or hope that someone reading this thread has the same amp and experience with it.By the way, with most Chinese amps, they like to tell you that no bias is needed. This is wrong 90% of the time. I think this is also why so many have experineced problems with Chinese amps bout direct from over seas or from an imported not familiar with tube gear in general. If it has pots inside, they're there for a reason. I come across this a LOT!!
