Mullard and Philips were the same company and produced valves for each other at times as did various other Uk companies hence the 'foreign' marking (I believe this was also a requirement for the BVA which Mullard was a member) . There were many valves branded as Mullard such as E80CC and so on that were never even made in the UK to start with yet people still call them a Mullard . You just got to know how to recognise the etch codes to find the country of origin . The 'new' Mullard is another matter altogethercheers
