Well, if you're using DC filaments you don't have to worry about it.
If you're using AC for the heaters, running wires in straight pairs can induce 60hz hum that will be heard in the speaker. Not to say it will happen, but to say it can happen. It's best to twist the wires. This is standard construction procedure, but some people don't do it. that's ok. People can do it any which way they want to.
I know a guy who uses solder to glue the wires to the terminals rather than just to hold the good mechanical connection tight. Everyone does things their own way.
