Well, it is the transformer closer to the 5AR4. It takes several hours of running to get uncomfortably hot.I'll do another set of testing like you say.
I have the instructions for the amp. It says not to use a VOM as it has too much voltage drop. A 100-5000 full scale non-switchable milliameter should be used (which I don't have.) I have an old analog Archer VOM and an older Eico VTVM. Probably should get one of those new fangled digital meters someday.Bias is supposed to be set to 44 ma at pin 3.
