The Tube Store here is quite misleading

Looking at the links in morinix' post above you can see that they are directly manufacturing at least one tube and actively overseeing the custom production of 4 or more custom reproductions OOP classic tubes of the past.

Check out this thread that starts out as a discussion of GT's "Mullard" reissue 12ax7 which they developed for production through reverse engineering (!). It starts as a nice discussion and then quickly gets led astray by attacks and defense of GT

I'm really put off by generalized negative statements Groove Tubes when it is clear they are trying to develop a business supplying NOS quality tubes at way cheaper prices. I find it really odd that The Tube Store would make no distinctions about the origin of various GT tubes. Their lack of sophistication in this matter makes me distrustful of them as a retailer! Especially when their site makes clear that they themselves are going to charge higher prices for selecting the good tubes out of their inconsistant stock. Pot calling the kettle black here.

And no, I haven't listened to any. Perhaps they all sound like @%#$#. I want to try their 12ax7 mullard reissues though, along with various other new production brands. My efforts to sub in new production for my 7189 power tubes though was VERY disappointing.
