which exhibited intermittenat sounds similar to that of someone lighting a match, prior to failing.The Visseaux's crapped out shortly afterwards (50-100 hours of use) and the Svetlana's lasted longer (200-300 additional hours of use).
Oddly enough (in my Audion 300B amp & my Bottlehead 2A3 monoblock/amps) these were my favorite "all round" power tubes.
Hopefully this will not be the case with whatever it is you are experiencing.
The "match light" fffffftt sounds occurred upon power up when things started going south quickly (for both tube types).
