Thanks for the added info.Fortunately I run only run class A/B except for the pair of SE811 amps I have which I rarely use.I think you can bias the tube to about 53ma safely but 50 is fine no doubt.I havent experiecned that dull red coloring on the plate but then again Im always in a lighted room by my tube amps when im switching things around.I wonder if you maybe out of the tube's bias range? Im going to try the military version of it later so I can compare it to the el38.
