I've sadly seen this - tubes that look absolutely, positively, assuredly pristine new but are sadly utterly dead and useless. Sad thing. Then there's occasionally the opposite situation where a tube looks awful but tests and sound good. Don't know how one of these would look on a curve tracer, but a mere mortal tube tester and mere motal ears say they're apparently working okay. I often use these tubes as my front line "burners." They're the tubes that keep NPR in the background for me for all day ;)- SJ
